Matariki celebration

WALT: write a recount

Last week   friday we came to school it was a sunny day for us to do our display and when it hit 9.00 clock we went inside our class room and sat at our table and wait for mrs cochrane to do our roll and after mrs cochrane did the roll we went to do some searching about Matariki and all the other star and also what the stars represent and what it means.

First we went to the art room to get some mentel for our little people to decorate. We used paper , glue, scissors, paintbrush and  feathers then we did some 3D stars and it was hard at first but then it got easier and easier .Mrs cochrane said to paint the star red  and put the shining glitter on the side it was so fun while i was putting the glitter on the star and when i was looking at the star it was sparkly, bright and i was so happy for what i did and  Then Kimiora ,  chloe and i went to the hall to measure the boarders we use a long ruler to measure the sides and the top and bottom we use centimetre and the top and bottom was 61 centimetre and the sides was 68 centimetres.

Next Chloe and i was mixing colour to find out what make brown and a few minutes we found out that green and red makes brown and then we went to mrs t.cochrane and she said it was all right but make it much more lighter so we did and then we paint the border and it look pink at first but when we let it set for a while it turn brown  and then  mrs cochrane used along wooden wood and then mrs cochrane cut the wooden wood  and made it thick and then mrs cochrane glue the wooden wood and she made it like a house and after she made it like a house we all did some maori pattern on it and the we put a bag behind the marae and then we cut the bag and made it the same size as the marae and the we gule the bag onto the mearea and it was so cool , amazing , pretty , beautiful and existing .

Then we went into the hall and kimora , chloe and i hold did the art for our display and the thing that  me , kimora and chloe was holding was 3D stars, coconuts trees , our little people that we design , light ,black  string , feathers words , mearae , borders and staple gun  and the frist art and light we put up on the wall was the light and we putted the light up like zigzag and then we cover the light and put the sparkle sheet on the light  and it was fables

And then we putted the marae on the sparkle sheet and staple the wood into the wall and then mrs cochrane ask me if it was straight and i answer  yes and then we put up the border on the side and the top and bottom and there was still more border to put up and then we hang the star on the top of the  wall and we putted the parents star on the wall and then we placed the feather words on the other side of the wall and after that we sticked the coconut trees and when mrs cochrane went back a bit she was so happy for what we did for our display

Findly we went to the hall for a hangi and when we got our food we all pray for our food and then everybody open there lunch box and they was enjoying it and when i open my lunch box and i was so happy  for what i had and also  we all have pumpkins , kuma , chicken , pork and potato slade .

I was happy because the food was yummy and that every parents loved   our display .
